Jesus of Nazareth was more than just a man. The Bible reveals that He was a uniquely born person. His mother was a young virgin girl named Mary. His father was God Himself. Impossible. Yes, except that God blows the top out of "impossible" everytime.

He lived a perfect, sinless life. Can you imagine being one of Jesus' brothers or sisters. How many times did they hear their little Jewish mother admonish them with, "Why can't you be like your brother Jesus? Hmm?"

Because He was the Son of God, He was able to perform the absolute act of love. He gave His life to pay for the wrongs and evils of us all. He "took our own sins upon His own body" to become our substitute and pay the price that we would otherwise have to pay.

But Jesus not only died on a cross at a place called Calvary, His lifeless body was taken down from that cross and laid in a nearby tomb. The stone was rolled in place and a guard was set to protect the grave. But they couldn't protect the grave from the power of God. On the third day, God raised His Son from the dead. He lives today, a risen Savior!

Jesus will one day come again. His promise to us is this, "If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself, that where I am there you may be also"  John 14:3. This is our great North Star, the guiding light of our dark day -- a new day is coming! Heaven is waiting. Jesus is coming again...
